What is FIT-Detect+™?

FIT-Detect+™ is a rapid, qualitative fecal immunochemical test (FIT) that detects human hemoglobin in stool samples, providing an important early indicator of gastrointestinal conditions including colorectal cancer, polyps, colitis, and diverticulitis. Using solid-phase chromatographic immunoassay technology, FIT-Detect+ is specific to human hemoglobin and unaffected by animal hemoglobin from food sources, eliminating the need for dietary restrictions before testing. Recommended annually by the American Cancer Society for average-risk adults age 45 and older, FIT-Detect+ is designed for use across a wide range of healthcare settings, including physician offices, clinical labs, and direct-to-patient programs.¹

The personal use kit is a complete, self-contained collection package. Samples are stable at room temperature for up to 10 days, providing flexibility for return logistics.

Does FIT-Detect+ require a single sample or multiple samples?

FIT-Detect+™ uses a single-sample collection process, reducing patient burden and simplifying the overall screening workflow.

Are there dietary or medication restrictions before testing?

No. Patients do not need to modify their diet or discontinue medications prior to testing. FIT-Detect+ is specific to human hemoglobin and does not cross-react with animal hemoglobin from common food sources.

Will our screening program need to change significantly?

Because FIT-Detect+ does not require an analyzer, labs and physician offices that relied on OC-Light S for strip-based FIT will find the workflows compatible. Polymedco will work closely with your team to support implementation, training, and ordering logistics.

Will ordering information change?

Yes. FIT-Detect+ will have new product SKUs and ordering information that will replace the current OC-Light S SKUs. Polymedco will provide detailed guides and ordering resources to help customers identify the appropriate replacement products and ensure an easy transition.

When should we begin planning our transition?

We encourage customers to begin planning now. OC-Light S® FIT will be discontinued effective September 2026, with the transition period spanning Q3 and early Q4 2026. Beginning the conversation early ensures the smoothest possible changeover for your program and patients.

Will training and support be available?

Yes. Polymedco will provide educational materials, implementation guidance, and hands-on support resources throughout the transition. Your Polymedco representative is your primary point of contact for transition planning.

Will pricing change with FIT-Detect+?

Polymedco is committed to making this process as smooth as possible for customers. Pricing for FIT-Detect+ is expected to remain comparable to current OC-Light S pricing.
