History of Polymedco, Inc.
1980: Polymedco began marketing unique pipetting devices, gamma counters, and esoteric fertility kits.
1990: Polymedco launched the Sediplast® ESR system which has since become the market leading sedrate product in the US.
1995: Polymedco introduced a magnetic separation method for HDL which proved to be a breakthrough that led to a 25% market share.
1996: Polymedco introduced its Sed-Chek® 2 ESR control which became the product leader in sedrate controls and encouraged the use of quality control procedures.
1997: Polymedco worked closely with BioMira and received FDA clearance for CA 27.29, the first FDA cleared breast tumor marker which brought a new method of testing to breast cancer patients.
1999: Polymedco’s BTA stat® test for recurrent bladder cancer detection received FDA clearance, was CLIA waived, and also approved for prescription home use.
2004: Polymedco introduces the OC-Auto automated immunological fecal occult blood test (FIT) for the detection of colorectal cancer.
2008: Polymedco introduces the OC-Light manual immunological fecal occult blood test (FIT) for the detection of colorectal cancer.
2009: Polymedco’s automated and manual fecal occult blood (FIT) tests dominate the US marketplace and are leading more of the right patients to colonoscopy.
2010: Polymedco introduces the OC-Sensor Diana high throughput automated immunological fecal occult blood test (FIT) for the detection of colorectal cancer.
